Welcome Vendors!

November 6, 2013

9am - 12pm

Mountain View College
West Foyer and Entry

This is the main entrance to the campus.  The sheer foot traffic will surpass a few hundred in this three-hour window.

Hi!

If you found this site, you have been contacted by me (*hopefully*) about being a vendor for our upcoming Nutrition Fair.  I wanted to create a way to have the information available for all interested entities and people.  Hopefully, this will be easy to share and communicate as the event day grows closer.

This is not the only event to plan for yet.  If you are unable to participate in this fair, for any reason, there is the Annual Health and Wellness Fair coming in April 2014!

I have hand-picked those that I am reaching out to for the Nutrition Fair.  I feel that you have a unique quality to bring that will reach a specific audience in our community population.

Since this is the first Nutrition Fair in 3 years, and specifically since the last nurse has retired, I would love to make an event to make her proud!  I want this fair to be nutrition-based.  I have picked entities with specialties- such as Sports Nutrition, Health Food Store, local bakery, Diabetes Nutrition, Cancer, etc.  I have also picked specific people/entities - Dieticians, Doctors, Nutritionists, Chefs, Health foods, consultants, etc.  Lastly, I picked community assistants - Poison control, restaurant supply, alcohol awareness (reeks havoc on your body!!), etc.  Of course, there is also one completely about chocolate!  There is something very unique about each entity that I want to make available to those in this community.

I want your resources to be known.

Most people, myself included, I did not know about most of these resources!  It was not until I started looking that I was able to find everyone.

I will post some pictures from this past Health and Wellness Fair.  This upcoming fair will be in a different location on campus.

Ready for the details?

As the health center, I plan to provide some refreshments.  It will not be anything major, I want the focus to be on you and what you want to share (information, pamphlets, demonstrations, etc).

If there is interest, I can create a speaker area or a place for a larger scale demonstration or presentation.

Breakdown.

Who - Health Vendors (YOU!)

What - Nutrition Fair

When - November 6, 2013 from 9a - 12p

Where - Mountain View College, West Entry and Foyer

How - I provide people, snacks, vendor raffle, tables, chairs, and facility.  You provide company info.

Why - Nutrition is so vitally important and yet many of us take advantage of it.  We eat what is available, what is 'convenient'.  Our health suffers.  Our quality of life suffers.  We grow tired, weary, and out of shape.  Let us show the community what is available to them.  Lead them to better choices.  Inform them of better ways.

Cost (the biggest factor) - Free.

I cannot say it is totally free (*gasp!*).

You printed something to share, right?  As for attending or having a table, the event is free.  It is free for students, free for staff, free for police, free for community members.  Everything else, is sponsored by the college and the health center.

Health and Wellness Fair April 2013

The Health and Wellness Fair was April 25, 2013.

It ran from 9a - 12p in the East Hall in front of the bus stop.

We had 31 vendors registered by the end.

We added a few more tables during setup to accomodate everyone!

Some worked with Michael Arredondo, some worked with me.  I apologize that most only received two weeks notice (from me) prior to the event.  It was the first one I ever ran!

We had participation from the community, the Emeritus Center here on campus, staff, and students galore!

At the end of the day, each vendor completed a survey.  It included questions about the snacks, the music, the location, and artwork that our students had displayed.

Once completed, one lucky group received a $50 gift certificate from our survey raffle.

I was so excited from the energy of our sponsors!  I had many asking to set up classes and showing excitement for next year.

We had about 250 people explore in an area of the school that does not have classrooms.  Curiosity and interests are peaked.  We recently finished our Health and Wellness blood testing October 10 & 11 and are in process of implementing a new health and wellness program for next year!
